Mr. Eric Poppelman: Veteran Collegiate Coach joins CV Family
The Club Vertical Volleyball Family welcomes veteran collegiate men's and women's volleyball coach, Mr. Eric Poppelman, his wife Dr. Alixandria Crepeau, M.D. and family.
Poppelman formally accepted his assignment as Executive Vice President and the Associate Club Director. His appointment by President & CEO Alfred Agcaoili was approved by a unanimous confirmation vote by the Board of Trustees.
"I have coached against [president] Alfred [Agcaoili] at the college level and am very excited to finally coach with him on the same side of the net," said the Milwaukee-native. "I'm 2-1 against him."
Agcaoili laughed following the statement by Poppelman saying, "Eric definitely holds a 2 win advantage over me. But he's on a 1 match losing streak in our most recent match against each other."
"Eric's teams always competed hard," said Agcaoili. "We're very lucky to have him officially on board to contribute to the CV Family."
The vice president is eager to contribute his ideas and preside over his duties and responsibilities in the Club and organization.
"I believe I have much to offer young people and am very excited and honored to accept this assignment provided to me. I want to thank the Board of Trustees for placing their confidence in me."
The former Chicago public schools educator will have an active and influential role in helping to shape the junior club programs commuting from his home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to St. Louis, Missouri to work closely with the St Louis and SW Illinois boys and girls program coaching and administrative staffs.
Along with his college head coach assignment in Wisconsin, Poppelman has collaborated with coaches from top NCAA Division I powerhouse programs: NCAA national champion University of Nebraska; multiple NCAA Final Four participants and Big Ten powerhouse University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota; and upstart Marquette University.
In addition to bringing high-level college head coach experience to CV, Poppelman has also served coaching assignments for powerhouse Milwaukee Sting Volleyball Club (girls), and Chicago-based boys volleyball clubs Lions Jrs VBC and Alliance VBC.
Poppelman will also travel around the country to provide leadership and guidance to CV affiliate programs and can be found in the gym as the Associate Head Coach to the Mizuno 18 Black (St Louis) boys team alongside coach Alfred Agcaoili. He will coach CV Mizuno 18 Black at tournaments and practice sessions. Moreover, Poppelman will serve as a Lead Master Coach in both boys and girls practice sessions for all CV programs.
Eric is married to Dr. Alixandria Crepeau, M.D., OB-GYN, Aurora Medical Group, Inc., Milwaukee, Wisc. They are the proud parents of three young children: sons Emmett (5), Miles (2) and little man Graydon (13 weeks old). The Poppelmans reside in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
